Frame of Mind

Wondering how I did this?...
For this process I took a piece of metal and etched it with acid. I then transferred a photograph onto the metal. I was really happy with how it turned out. I wasn't very familiar with either process, so in alot of ways it was a "happy accident." I didn't realize that the metal would show up underneath my transfer in the lighter areas of my photograph. So that means that the acid etched metal is showing through where her skin is.

  1. Beautiful...and how like our own perceptions of ourselves....Our experiences have worn away confidence, appreciation, or even acknowledgement of who we really are.Ilove it! I hope to see more of your "experiments"...just lovely, lovely work!

I use to say that my best pieces are the ones that survive accidents!

  3. Of the layered pieces I think this is my favorite, between the original picture and how it and the metal were processed--how we fare through life, and how we use our resources to come through life's weathering!
Give my brother a hug for me! (That means you both get one!) ~.^
